Electricity
09.03.2009
This is one of the things I find difficult because I can just take it for granted in Australia - or in Canberra anyway - blackouts were pretty normal in Broadwater, although they didn't happen too often.
I should just learn that if the electricity is on, I shouldn’t arse about on the laptop playing spider solitaire and wasting precious time, I should write blog entries, read stuff for my thesis, etc.
I hate it when the electricity goes off. And the water. (The water usually goes off when the electricity does.) It’s too hot to stay in the bedroom (it’s like our little oasis), I worry about food in the fridge going off, I can’t charge my phone etc, and the amount of things to do is reduced to pretty much reading paperbacks (which I don’t have many of) or studying Tetum, because I don’t like running down the battery on my laptop to write blog entries, or read for my thesis or read ebooks. Hmph.
